What Is Jerky Direct?

When you think about product lines for multi-level marketing companies, what kind of things come to mind first? For a lot of folks, their first inclination will be to think about products line skin care, body lotions, face treatments solutions, jewelry, etc. But what about jerky?

That’s what Jerky Direct has to bring to the table, and according to the company’s official website, Jerky Direct was first founded back in 2004. Supposedly after a few years from the company’s initial launch, a business by the name of Attrition took Jerky Direct over and this created a major decline for the company as a whole. Then, in July of this year, Jerky Direct made the announcement that they would be forced to shut down.

However, some of the distributors that were working for Jerky Direct supposedly saw a real opportunity with what the company was offering, and decided to relaunched the company just last month in August of 2016.

With this new relaunch, Jerky Direct’s CEO and Owner is now that of a Daniel Jay. Jay joined Jerky Direct back in 2014 when it initially launched, and when news got out that the company would be shutting down, Daniel said that “God was opening up a door for him at the exact right time.”

According to a video on YouTube that’s uploaded to Daniel’s personal account, the man has been involved with multi-level marketing for over 13-years. One of the most notable companies that Daniel was an affiliate for is that of Empower Network.

So, does this jerky company have what it takes to see success in the constantly growing world of MLM? Let’s find out.

What Are The Products For Jerky Direct?

As we mentioned above, Jerky Direct’s product line consists of jerky products. It’s certainly a unique product to sell in the MLM field, but sometimes these odd products are what a company needs to stand out among the crowd.

Jerky Direct’s website claims that all of their jerky is made by a “Master Jerky Maker.” This Master Jerky Maker has supposedly been creating jerky products for more than 16 years, but Jerky Direct doesn’t offer any information in regards to who this Master Jerky Maker actually is.

While this isn’t necessarily a deal-breaker for the company, it does pose for a bit of an odd situation.

As for the actual jerky that’s being offered, Jerky Direct says that their jerky is made out of “Fresh Ingredients, Minimally Processed, NO Nitrates or Artificial Ingredients.”

The flavors that are available include Original, Mesquite Smokes, Teriyaki, and Sriracha.

Jerky Direct sells a Product Pack of their jerky that holds two 2.5-ounce bags of the company’s jerky. The Product Pack itself sells for $21.75.

What Is The Compensation Plan For Jerky Direct?

When it comes down to making money as an affiliate for the company, members are able to earn a commission when selling the company’s Product Packs to retail customers. Additionally, residual commissions can also be earned through a unilevel payment system.

And, on top of this, affiliates can earn even more commissions when they are able to recruit a new affiliate to sign up for the membership and order a Product Pack themselves.

Commission Qualification

In order for an affiliate to be eligible to start earning commissions as an affiliate for Jerky Direct, they must either buy or sell one of the company’s Product Packs.

Recruitment Commissions

When a newly recruited affiliate signs up for Jerky Direct’s membership, and they purchase their first order through the company, the recruiting affiliate that got them to join is then made a commission of $5. However, that $5 is paid to that recruiting affiliate for every Product Pack that their personally recruited affiliate purchase.

Residual Commissions

As for residual commissions, Jerky Direct pays their affiliates through that of a unilevel payment system. Only the first 7 levels of a unilevel team are able to qualify for these commissions, and the commissions themselves get paid based on the total amount of retail sales and affiliate orders than have taken place throughout the past month.

For every Product Pack that is sold, a commission of $5 is generated. This is then split up between all of the 7 levels that exist within each unilevel team, and affiliates who find themselves closer to the top of their team will earn more cash.

For example, level 1 affiliates earn $2 from the $5 commission, but affiliates who are at levels 5 and 6 will earn a commission of just 25 cents.

What’s Does It Cost To Join Jerky Direct?

If you’d like to join Jerky Direct as an affiliate, you’ll need to pay a membership fee of $15.95. However, in order to be eligible to start earning commissions, you’ll need to either buy or make a sale of one of the company’s Product Packs.

Jerky Direct Review Conclusion

In the case of Jerky Direct, what kind of situation are we looking at?

The overall legitimacy of the company is entirely dependent on the amount of retail sales taking place as compared to purchases that are being made by the company’s affiliates, but based on the compensation plan that the company is offering, it looks to be a pretty straightforward and easy to understand concept.

Once signed up as an affiliate, people can get commissions through both retail sales and getting people to sign up and enlist in the company’s autoship order.

The company’s CEO heavily suggests that affiliates sign up for the autoship in order to be eligible to start earning commissions, and while autoship might sound like a killer for a legit MLM opportunity, it’s not necessarily a bad thing.

Autoship orders on their own are fine. Where we start to see trouble is if the orders from affiliates within the company are much greater than the actual amount of retail sales that are taking place.

If retail sales are the majority of the sales taking place, then Jerky Direct has a solid business on their hands. However, if the majority of the sales are coming from affiliates within the company, then Jerky Direct turns into nothing more than a chain-recruitment pyramid scheme.

Jerky Direct appears to take a great deal of pride in their product line, but before you start trying to sell their Product Packs to other people, taste the company’s jerky for yourself. You’re going to have a hard time selling packs of the stuff if you don’t like it yourself.

In any case, if you do decide to join, try and talk with your upline to see how much retail sale activity is taking place. If that seems to be the focus for them, then Jerky Direct could prove to be a worthy investment of your time, talent, and money.
